When ideal lake ice conditions were presented across the entire Ely area in the Fall of 2017, the opportunity arose for the community to come together to skate on Shagawa Lake.
This cross promotional video started with the idea of getting a drone shot of a hockey puck being slap-shot across a lake. But soon the idea grew to gather as many people from the community as we could for a social skate on the lake. The local HS hockey team cancelled their regular practice and joined others for an afternoon of fun.
